The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of magnetic technology development, either based in Erie, PA, USA or Cardiff, Wales, UK. As an R&D Magnet Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for researching, designing, and implementing cutting-edge magnetic products and technologies. You'll work with state-of-the-art tools like Siemens MAGNET FEA software for creating 2D and 3D magnetic models.

This position combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, requiring both technical expertise and practical skills. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and designers, supporting global operations and contributing to the company's continued innovation in magnetic separation technologies.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics, with up to three years of experience in magnetic circuit design. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication abilities for presenting to global audiences.

Responsibilities For R & D Magnet Design Engineer

  • Research, design, develop, and implement magnetic products and technologies
  • Perform magnetic circuit design analyses for new product design
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers through product design and development
  • Construct 2-D and 3-D magnetic models using Siemens MAGNET FEA software
  • Handle, assemble, test, and troubleshoot magnetic equipment in lab and field
  • Present project progress reports to R&D and corporate management
  • Provide technical presentations to global audiences
  • Support global operations for testing and qualification of magnets and suppliers
  • Support manufacturing and production teams with technical guidance

Requirements For R & D Magnet Design Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
  • 0-3 years of experience in magnetic circuit design
  • Good analytical background
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with coding (preferred)
  • Ability to design permanent magnet and electro-magnet circuits
  • Hands-on laboratory testing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Willing to travel internationally
