Eriez is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join their Global Corporate Research & Development team. This role represents an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of electromagnetic engineering and embedded systems development. The position involves designing and developing innovative products from concept to release, with a focus on electromagnetic machine design and complex circuit development.

The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience in embedded systems design and development, combining expertise in both hardware and software aspects. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology, designing and implementing complex analog and digital circuitry at the PCB level, and developing real-time software solutions for various applications.

In this role, you'll be responsible for leading research and development initiatives, performing electromagnetic machine design analyses, and creating sophisticated control systems. You'll work in a multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating with software, hardware, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure optimal system performance and compatibility.

Key aspects of the role include designing and conducting lab test programs, evaluating equipment performance, and ensuring compliance with third-party certifications (UL, CSA, CE). You'll also be responsible for developing comprehensive documentation and supervising technical staff on R&D projects.

Responsibilities For Senior Embedded Systems Engineer

  • Design, develop, and implement R&D products from concept to release
  • Perform electro-magnetic machine design analyses
  • Develop complex circuit design at PCB level
  • Design, write, and debug real-time software
  • Create control schematics and production ready drawings
  • Design and conduct lab test programs
  • Design and build test fixtures and write test procedures
  • Evaluate equipment performance in lab, production, and field environments
  • Evaluate product lines for third party certification
  • Develop documentation for various stakeholders
  • Supervise technical staff on R&D projects
  • Present project progress reports
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities and field installations

Requirements For Senior Embedded Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 15+ years experience in embedded systems design and development
  • Experience with high-voltage electro-magnetic machine design
  • Significant programming experience in C or C++
  • Experience in trouble-shooting embedded systems
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Experience in embedded systems communication protocols
  • Ability to define research and development steps
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of PCB design using PADS, Altium
  • Experience with peripheral buses I2C, UART, SPI, USB
