Backend Software Engineer, AI Platform

As a Backend Software Engineer on the AI Platform team, you'll be at the forefront of making LLMs more accessible to engineering teams. The role involves working with cutting-edge legal industry large language models that extract and summarize data from client documents.

You'll join a diverse team of Data Scientists, Researchers, and Software Engineers, working at the intersection of programming, LLM integration, and experimentation. This hybrid position offers 2-3 days of in-office collaboration in either San Francisco or Toronto, providing an excellent opportunity to tackle complex engineering challenges in generative AI while contributing to a more equitable legal system.

The role demands expertise in building scalable systems and infrastructure for LLM-based algorithms, with a focus on reliability and performance. You'll take ownership of projects from conception to deployment, working with Python, Postgres, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in distributed systems, API development, and a track record of delivering complex projects in fast-paced startup environments.
