Description For Software Engineer, Data Products

EvenUp is revolutionizing the personal injury legal landscape with its mission to support injury law firms across America. As a Software Engineer in the Data Products team, you'll play a crucial role in scaling our ability to onboard clients and equip them with data insights and analytical tooling. Your work will directly impact customers by providing unique insights into historical case and settlement data, empowering lawyers to better represent injury victims.

This hybrid role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team 2-3 days per week in either the Greater Toronto Area or San Francisco Bay Area. You'll be at the forefront of building fault-tolerant services, developing integration tools, and expanding our Executive Analytics product suite. Your responsibilities will include implementing robust code using modern technologies like Python, Django, and Postgres, and engaging in the full project lifecycle with ownership from conception to deployment.

We're looking for tenacious engineers with a proven track record in tackling challenging problems. You should have hands-on experience in crafting applications, scaling services, and developing secure integrations. Proficiency in Python or TypeScript is crucial, along with a deep understanding of the entire application lifecycle, web services, and databases. Your versatile skillset should encompass software development fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns, as well as familiarity with various protocols and server-side languages.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Data Products

  • Build fault-tolerant, resilient services responsible for the processing of millions of records across our 1k+ customers
  • Develop seamless integration tooling to accelerate our operations teams and their ability to partner effectively and efficiently with our customers
  • Expand our Executive Analytics product suite, delivering unique insights to our clients and empowering them to best represent their injury victims
  • Implement robust, maintainable, reusable code in a modern tech-stack including Python, Django, Postgres, Elasticsearch and other technologies
  • Actively engage in the full project lifecycle across the stack, with full ownership from conception to deployment and iteration
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners & designers to develop efficient, innovative solutions
