As an Applied Scientist focusing on Advanced Electromagnetic Systems & Machine Learning, you'll be at the forefront of developing groundbreaking innovations in electromagnetic sensing and material discrimination technology. Working within the R&D Organization, you'll collaborate with senior scientists and a 100+ member team across multiple disciplines.

The role combines deep physics expertise with cutting-edge AI applications, where you'll work with magnetic field theory, novel sensor array architectures, and machine learning algorithms. You'll be contributing to the convergence of low-frequency electromagnetics, materials science, and real-time signal processing to create next-generation security screening solutions.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 - $150,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Based at the headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts, the role requires 80% on-site work due to the nature of software-enabled hardware products. You'll be mentored by senior team members while developing your expertise in a culture that emphasizes learning, collaboration, and innovation.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with research experience in electromagnetics and applications. Strong foundations in electromagnetic field theory, material properties, signal processing, and programming skills in MATLAB or Python are essential.
