AI Engineer

Fern is building tools to enable businesses to offer "Stripe-level" SDKs and Docs for their REST APIs. Founded in 2022 and backed by YCombinator, we're a small team of less than 10 people working on open-source projects. Our office is located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.

As an AI Engineer at Fern, you'll be part of a generalist team tackling new challenges and interfacing with customers regularly. Your main responsibilities will include:

1. Leading the development of AI-enabled features, building net new functionality based on customer demands for GenAI experiences.
2. Building our team by working directly with the CEO and CTO to bring in talented AI engineers.

We're looking for candidates with:

• 4+ years of professional backend or full-stack development experience
• Significant experience with TypeScript and at least one other programming language
• Experience developing, deploying, and monitoring AI products or features in production
• (Nice to have) Experience working in a high-growth SaaS company

We offer competitive compensation, including a salary range of $168,000 to $192,000 plus equity. Additional benefits include:
