Description For Deployed Engineer

Fern is revolutionizing API development by making them more accessible and standardized. As a Deployed Engineer at Fern, you'll be working in a dynamic startup environment focused on scaling from $1M to $10M ARR. The role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, perfect for engineers with entrepreneurial aspirations.

You'll build direct relationships with customers, from CTOs to Software Engineers, becoming their primary point of contact. The position requires versatility - you'll work across multiple codebases, fixing bugs and implementing features in various components like TypeScript SDK generators and Docs Frontend. Your customer insights will directly influence the product roadmap and company direction.

The company, founded in 2022 and backed by YCombinator, operates from their Williamsburg, Brooklyn office. They serve notable customers including Cohere, ElevenLabs, Webflow, and Merge.dev. The team values in-person collaboration and offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive salary, equity, and living proximity bonus.

Working at Fern means joining a small but growing team (less than 20 people) where you'll have significant impact and growth opportunities. The tech stack is modern and diverse, including Next.js, Claude + Bedrock for LLM, various microservices, and AWS cloud infrastructure. This role is perfect for someone who wants to gain firsthand experience in scaling a startup while building valuable connections in the SaaS startup community.

The interview process is thorough but straightforward, including technical assessments and a work trial, ensuring a good mutual fit. If you're passionate about APIs, enjoy working across multiple programming languages, and want to be part of shaping the future of API development, this role offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact.
