Description For Director, Architecture

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Director of Architecture to join their Asset Management Technology's Architecture group supporting the Strategic Advisors business. This is a senior technical leadership role that combines hands-on architecture work with strategic technology direction.

The role requires deep technical expertise in developing and deploying web services, applications, and designing highly scalable, low-latency complex systems. You'll be responsible for collaborating with teams to design and develop applications for portfolio construction, trading, and operations, while ensuring robust integration and efficient processing.

As a member of the Asset Management Architecture team, you'll provide architecture direction and decisions for Asset Management, working closely with product and engineering teams. The position requires expertise in Java/SpringBoot development, API design, AWS services, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with extensive experience in architecture patterns including highly performant systems, event-driven architectures, APIs, and security architectures. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across organizational units are essential.

Fidelity offers a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with company match, medical/dental/vision coverage, parental leave, and student loan assistance. The position follows Fidelity's hybrid working model, requiring onsite presence every other week at their Boston office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned architect who wants to impact the financial services industry while working with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment. The role offers the chance to drive innovation, mentor others, and shape the technical direction of a leading financial services company.
