Description For Director, Workload Automation Engineering

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Director of Workload Automation Engineering to join their team as an individual contributor solutions engineer. This role focuses on workload orchestration practices with commercial off-the-shelf platforms and cloud native orchestration solutions. The position requires expertise in batch processing, cloud technologies, and system engineering.

The ideal candidate will work within the Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations domain, collaborating with architecture and batch engineers to maintain platform resilience while implementing new features. They will be responsible for analyzing, recommending, and advocating solutions to optimize workload automation practices across mainframe, on-premises, and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities include COTS workload automation development, administration, and production stability, while also helping internal users with automation needs. The role requires deep knowledge of cloud concepts (AWS/Azure), workload automation platforms, and open-source data orchestration tools like Airflow and Prefect.

The position offers comprehensive benefits including 401(k) with company match, medical/dental/vision coverage, generous parental leave, and student loan assistance. Fidelity's hybrid working model combines onsite and remote work, requiring presence in the office every other week.
