Description For Principal GenAI Engineer (Asset Management Technology)

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Principal GenAI Engineer to join their Asset Management Technology team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned scientist with deep understanding of GenAI to help revolutionize the foundations of Computer Science, AI, and Finance. The role involves developing a Large Language Model (LLM)-first knowledge stack for investment professionals in Fidelity Asset Management, including analysts and portfolio managers in equities, fixed income, high income, and direct lending.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of industrial experience with a PhD or Master's in AI/ML, Computer Science, or Finance with a strong machine learning background. You'll need expertise in state-of-the-art LLMs, knowledge representation, and reasoning, combined with the ability to deliver production-ready GenAI applications. The role requires excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work as part of a team to solve complex applied problems.

The technology stack you'll be working with includes Python and various data-centric AI techniques, particularly as applied to text, tables, and documents. You'll be responsible for processing various types of financial documents and supporting the deployment of personalized assistants that can help investment professionals with their information processing tasks.
