Principal Systems Engineer

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join their technology team in Durham, NC. This role is crucial in delivering resilient, high-scale, and high-availability software solutions and services. The position focuses on providing application and database support for Fixed Income Portfolio Management, Research, Trading, and Investment Operations functions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying and supporting highly distributed, multi-tiered systems and improving Cloud operations on AWS using container orchestration tools like Kubernetes (EKS and AKS). They will debug production failures using tools such as Datadog, Splunk, and Autosys, while designing solutions for complex applications and system administration challenges.

Key responsibilities include managing Cloud applications infrastructure, supporting both Cloud-based and On-Prem systems, driving incident management, and implementing monitoring solutions. The role requires participation in on-call rotations and batch cycle management to maintain production stability.

The position requires either a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of Cloud technologies, CI/CD tools, and experience within a financial services environment.
