At Fidelity Institutional Wealth Management Services (IWMS), we are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead and drive our end-to-end Solution Architecture practice for our IWMS Platform Data, Reporting, and Integrations. The role involves working directly with Product Area Leaders (PAL), Chapter Leaders (CL), and Squads across the organization to craft solutions that meet business priorities and initiatives that help drive IWMS digital modernization effort.
The IWMS Platform Data, Reporting and Integrations domain manages several key platform capabilities including Integrations Xchange (an award-winning developer experience and fintech marketplace), integration capabilities (APIs, data transmissions, direct data externalization), client reporting, platform security, and billing capabilities.
As a Vice President of Architecture, you will be part of a team that provides deep technical expertise to the broader Engineering community, delivering solution architecture mentorship as well as cross-organization technical architecture guidance. The role requires championing innovative technology solutions, working across groups to find opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives, and providing leadership on sophisticated organization-wide projects.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in building distributed systems & applications with at least 3+ years of Cloud technologies experience. You should have a proven track record of leading solution architects, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities. Knowledge of the financial industry, particularly Clearing and Custody business, is highly desired.

Responsibilities For Vice President, Architecture
- Lead and drive end-to-end Solution Architecture practice for IWMS Platform Data, Reporting, and Integrations
- Work with Product Area Leaders and Chapter Leaders to craft solutions
- Champion innovative technology solutions
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on day-to-day solution to agile teams
- Analyze business direction and problems, understand long term vision
- Build and maintain effective relationships with product managers
- Communicate and collaborate with key partners
- Translate business needs into technology solutions
Requirements For Vice President, Architecture
- BS or MS required
- 10+ years of experience in building distributed systems & applications
- 3+ years with Cloud technologies
- Experience architecting demonstrating standard methodologies for cloud enabled, high throughput, distributed enterprise platforms
- Knowledge of Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Cybersecurity concerns
- Excellent technical expertise and communication skills
- Financial industry experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of continuous integration, static code analysis and test-driven development
