Software Engineer - Production Engineering

Figma is seeking a Senior Engineer for their Production Engineering team, focusing on end-to-end reliability, durability, scalability, and performance of Figma products and services. This role is critical for supporting Figma's growth and enabling innovation across engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will be a generalist with strong Computer Science fundamentals and experience in building and running complex large-scale services. They should have a passion for simplifying the operation of large-scale infrastructure and improving Figma's operational maturity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining standard methodologies for reliability, scalability, and performance
• Building tools and services to address operational challenges
• Debugging production issues across various stack levels
• Participating in design and production reviews
• Planning for infrastructure growth
• Operating and maintaining AWS infrastructure

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience operating infrastructure at scale
• Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals and interest in distributed systems
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Commitment to operational security and best practices
• Ability to diagnose problems in complex systems
