Commissioning Engineer

Fire Design Solutions is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to take charge of commissioning Residential and Commercial Smoke Venting and Fire Alarm Systems. This role involves on-site work, primarily in the London area, with potential for nationwide travel and overnight stays. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fan motors, inverters, and detection systems, and be able to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commission Fire Alarm and AOV systems
• Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota (currently one week in 8)
• Administer accurate cause and effects
• Program life safety systems
• Work from drawings and mark-ups
• Liaise with Design, Project Management, and Maintenance departments
• Complete job-related administration (timesheets, vehicle checklists, expense forms)
• Finalize and sign off on project certification

Requirements:

• Previous experience in Fire Alarm commissioning (BS5839 standards)
• Knowledge of Kentec products (desirable)
• Computer literacy
• On-site work experience
• Ability to manage multiple discipline projects
• Supervision skills
• Strong decision-making abilities
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Valid driving license
