DevOps Engineer

FLASH is seeking Software Engineers to contribute to their mission of simplifying everyday travel. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll work on core technical systems, developing scalable APIs and services, complex pricing models, and transaction processing. You'll collaborate with internal and external teams to digitize access to parking facilities, residential buildings, venues, and stadiums.

Key responsibilities include:

• Improving Linux-based infrastructure and hosted software
• Troubleshooting diverse technologies, including Ruby on Rails and Golang-based software
• Monitoring and optimizing application performance
• Automating systems and ensuring high availability and scalability
• Defining systems as code for portability between cloud providers

The ideal candidate will have:

• Deep understanding of Linux-based systems and networking
• Strong Computer Science background
• Proficiency in Shell/Ruby/Python scripting and SQL
• Experience with backend programming languages (Ruby on Rails preferred)
• Familiarity with automation tools like Chef and Terraform
• Understanding of distributed systems logging and monitoring

A typical day involves:

• Attending morning stand-ups with product management, engineering, and QA
• Collaborating on product development
• Performing technical spiking for future initiatives
• Using Slack for team communication
• Conducting code reviews
• Shipping and celebrating code deployments
