Fluence is seeking a Senior Battery Systems Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, India. This role focuses on managing the design, development, specification, and evaluation of ESS Li-ion batteries for stationary energy storage systems. As a key member of the team, you'll work on supplier-developed systems and components integration, define requirements, and act as both a technical leader and project manager. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in high-voltage battery systems, strong engineering fundamentals across multiple disciplines, and excellent project management skills. Responsibilities For Battery Systems Engineer
- Responsible for hardware and software requirements development, working with Core Engineering, Project Management, and Product teams
- Lead and Manage battery system supplier development and integration into Fluence Energy Storage Systems including execution of supplier design reviews
- Manage and coordinate battery system development and validation testing
- Work with project/product management to track and maintain schedule
- Develop a deep understanding of the supplier system and solutions to be able to manage and communicate technical risks to the broader Fluence team
Requirements For Battery Systems Engineer
- B.S. in Engineering
- 7+ years in the design and development of high-voltage battery systems
- Strong knowledge of system engineering principles
- Technical knowledge in a broad area of engineering disciplines (Electrical, Electronics, Controls, Mechanical, Thermal, Materials, Safety, Test/Validation, Manufacturing)
- Experience with requirements management and test tracking tools (Jira, Jama, Doors, TestRail, etc.)
- Ability to utilize data and statistical analyses to make design decisions
- Strong technical communication skills
- Passion for batteries, sharing know-how, and learning from others
