We're seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Manila, Philippines. This role involves designing and optimizing closed-loop control systems for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), creating PID controllers, and acting as a liaison between customers and the development team. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct testing, provide support, and troubleshoot control system issues. The ideal candidate has a strong background in control systems, proficiency in MATLAB, Linux scripting, and Python, and experience with SCADA systems. Responsibilities For Control Systems Engineer

  • Design, develop, and optimize closed-loop control systems for Battery Energy Storage Systems
  • Create and fine-tune PID controllers to ensure efficient energy management
  • Act as a liaison between customers and the development team, translating customer requirements into actionable development tasks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems into BESS projects
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) on-site
  • Provide support to commissioning, servicing, and solution teams as needed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, ensuring high system reliability
  • Program and maintain control systems using MATLAB, Linux scripting, and Python
  • Integrate control systems with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) platforms
  • Utilize Git or SVN for version control and code collaboration
  • Offer expertise in communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, and OPC-UA, and assist with their implementation
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in battery energy storage systems
  • Mentor and guide junior team members

Requirements For Control Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of closed-loop control systems and PID controllers
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Linux scripting, and Python for control system programming
  • Experience with SCADA systems and control system integration
  • 2-3 years of experience in applied related skills
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git or SVN)
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, and OPC-UA is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
