Description For Data Engineer

Fluence is seeking a Data Engineer for their software engineering team working on the Nispera Asset Performance Management (APM) platform. This role, based in Fluence's global innovation center in Bangalore, will report to the Nispera software engineering team in India and Europe. The platform monitors, analyzes, and optimizes renewable energy assets performance across various technologies using automated data acquisition and AI-driven algorithms.

As a Data Engineer, you'll support data science and software engineering teams in complex data wrangling tasks. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Designing, developing, optimizing, and documenting data models and pipelines for the APM platform.
  2. Supporting data scientists by extracting, transforming, cleaning, filtering, and preparing data.
  3. Maintaining and developing relational, document, and in-memory databases.
  4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity.
  5. Managing data-driven projects contributing to APM software strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • BSc or higher in computer science or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software or data engineering
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Experience with relational database administration, AWS, in-memory databases, and Amazon S3
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Nice-to-have skills:

  • MLOps and DataOps experience
  • Machine learning knowledge
  • Renewable energy markets and utility-scale battery technology expertise
  • Agile framework experience, preferably Scrum
