Description For Field Service Engineer

The Field Service Engineer role at Fluence is within the Digital business unit. The position requires candidates based in Scotland and involves providing product support to internal and external customers for Fluence technical platforms. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring safe operations and maintenance activities within European sites
  • Working closely with customers to provide timely and effective service
  • Supporting customer training during commissioning
  • Providing onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on technical support
  • Managing 3rd party service contractors for planned and reactive maintenance
  • Continuously improving and auditing safety, quality, and performance
  • Leading Quality Control activities
  • Managing maintenance works using managerial planning software (CMMS)
  • Maintaining physical inventories, tools, and equipment

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (or a combination of experience and a 2-year technical certificate)
  • At least 5 years of industry experience in the field (Utility, Wind, Solar, or Thermal energy equipment supplier)
  • Strong project management skills and experience in running international projects
  • SCADA experience (beneficial)
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office Tools and experience with SAP and CMMS
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
