Description For Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - NPI

Fluence (Nasdaq: FLNC) is seeking a Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - NPI to join their team. This role involves leading NPI manufacturing projects, coordinating prototype manufacturing activities, and collaborating across functions. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in manufacturing NPI or process engineering, with a strong background in product development and manufacturing within an OEM and/or Tier I supplier community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning NPI manufacturing projects and ensuring contract manufacturers are production-ready
  • Leading a team of advanced manufacturing engineers in developing and launching new production lines
  • Coordinating prototype manufacturing activities and providing CAPEX expenditure forecasts
  • Identifying and mitigating potential manufacturing risks
  • Creating and maintaining AME deliverables such as PFD, PFMEA, QCP, and manufacturing BOMs
  • Participating in design and DFA/DFM reviews to influence manufacturability
  • Supporting cost reduction and quality initiatives

The role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, hands-on manufacturing experience, and knowledge of manufacturing metrics and quality methods. A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is required, along with the ability to travel 25-75% of the time.

  • 7+ years' experience in manufacturing NPI or process engineering
  • Experience leading manufacturing engineers in an NPI environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing, particularly high volume, low-mix production
  • Knowledge of manufacturing metrics and KPIs
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of quality methods and requirements (APQP, ISO9001, TS16949)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Ability to travel to CM locations with little advanced notice
