Description For Product Quality Engineer (Technical Operations)

Fluence (Nasdaq: FLNC) is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join their technical operations team. As a global leader in intelligent energy storage and optimization software, Fluence is transforming the power industry with solutions deployed across nearly 50 markets worldwide.

The role combines quality control expertise with technical operations in a hybrid work environment, requiring 2-3 days in office at either Houston, TX, Arlington, VA, or Alpharetta, GA locations. The position is crucial for maintaining and improving manufacturing quality standards across Fluence's operations.

The ideal candidate will bring 5 years of quality manufacturing experience and a strong technical background, preferably with a BS in engineering. They will be responsible for developing quality control plans, executing production processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge of ISO standards, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing principles is essential.

Responsibilities For Product Quality Engineer (Technical Operations)

  • Develop quality control plans and maintain product specifications for manufacturing operations
  • Execute NPI production ramp-up and approval process as per Fluence internal procedures (APQP)
  • Develop acceptance criteria for APQP projects and coordinate test run operations on site
  • Perform technical evaluations and reports for NPI test runs, supplier/contract manufacturer audits
  • Assist test engineers in design and facilitation of manufacturing end-of-line test plans
  • Support PFMEA reviews for new products with process engineering team
  • Maintain factory certification for contract manufacturing operations
  • Map existing workflows and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify cost-down activities and implement them at regional contract manufacturers
  • Develop standard operational procedures for manufacturing assembly processes

Requirements For Product Quality Engineer (Technical Operations)

  • BS engineering degree or related technical field
  • 5 years quality manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, management of certification
  • Experience in basic SPC principles
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, lean, 5S concepts
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, ERP, Quality Management and databases
  • Experience in Six Sigma philosophy
