Senior Power Systems Engineer - BESS

Fluence is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer - BESS to join their team. This role focuses on developing hardware designs for grid-scale battery energy storage (BESS) products that are safe, flexible, maintainable, and cost-competitive. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing electrical designs for multi-MW energy storage systems
• Preparing product technical information and supporting the Sales Engineering team
• Ensuring collaboration between different functions within the organization
• Overseeing product integration and system-level electrical design
• Supporting development of product manuals and documentation
• Performing electrical studies and evaluating product safety standards
• Working with vendors to evaluate and select system subcomponents
• Collaborating with various teams to incorporate feedback and lessons learned
• Supporting hardware testing and prototype evaluations
• Defining tasks for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
• Providing leadership and oversight of processes
• Continuously improving product development and effectiveness

The ideal candidate should have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5-9 years of experience in Electrical Power Systems Design in Renewables
• Experience in new product development and systems engineering
• In-depth design experience with electrical components and industry standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities
• Capacity to work with global teams across diverse backgrounds and time zones
