The Senior Product Compliance Engineer will develop and execute an effective product compliance strategy aligned with the company's business goals. This role is crucial in creating a culture of compliance and ensuring that requirements from standards are embedded in all aspects of the business related to energy storage systems products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing a comprehensive compliance program for energy storage products
  • Tracking and analyzing safety standards and their impact on Fluence products
  • Determining product safety approval test scope and developing compliance plans
  • Assisting in finding solutions to certification testing challenges
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies
  • Regular reporting to stakeholders on compliance matters
  • Interacting with regulatory authorities and industry associations

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in global compliance standards for products like batteries, electrical systems, or industrial products
  • Knowledge of UL & IEC product requirements and certification processes
  • Experience with regional and global regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of battery-related standards (IEC62619, UL1973, IEC62933-5-1/-2, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA855)
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across disciplines
  • Experience in creating Hazard and Risk Analysis and Risk Assessments
  • Willingness to travel
