Description For Systems Engineer - Product Verification & Validation

Fluence (Nasdaq: FLNC) is a global market leader in intelligent energy storage and optimization software for renewables and storage. As a Systems Engineer - Product Verification & Validation, you'll work on cross-functional teams within Fluence's Product team to verify and validate energy storage requirements against technical and customer needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, functional, and safety design of Fluence's products
  • Creating best practices for test plans, procedures, and enhancing verification and validation processes
  • Leading development of system and subsystem test plans and strategies
  • Validating engineering design against product requirements
  • Collaborating with lab teams and reviewing test results

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A passion for energy storage and collaborative engineering
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar
  • 4-7 years of industry experience in renewable energy systems, power conversion, or related fields
  • Experience in developing or executing product test plans
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer - Product Verification & Validation

  • Work as a systems engineer on multi-disciplinary teams to deliver MW-scale energy storage products
  • Develop deep understanding of the electrical, mechanical, functional, and safety design of Fluence's products
  • Develop best practices for test plan development and verification and validation processes
  • Engage with stakeholders to present on verification and validation processes
  • Validate engineering design and documentation against Fluence product requirements
  • Lead development of system and subsystem test plans, procedures, and testing strategy
  • Incorporate customer and sales engineering testing requirements into system test plans
  • Travel to labs periodically to support test team
  • Review test results to verify requirements are met and processes are followed
  • Collaborate with lab team to optimize test plans
  • Provide feedback on product requirements to drive improvements

Requirements For Systems Engineer - Product Verification & Validation

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 4-7 years industry experience in renewable energy systems, power conversion, energy storage, PV, power systems control, or similar field
  • Experience developing or executing product test plans
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
