As a Senior Systems Engineer – Product Verification & Validation at Fluence, you will play a crucial role in verifying and validating energy storage requirements against technical and customer specifications. You'll work on cross-functional teams within the Product team, developing deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, functional, and safety aspects of Fluence's products.

Your responsibilities will include developing best practices for test plans, leading the creation of system and subsystem test procedures, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance Fluence's verification and validation processes. You'll validate engineering designs against product requirements, incorporate customer testing needs, and optimize test plans for different product configurations.

This role requires a strong background in renewable energy systems, power conversion, or related fields, with 4-7 years of industry experience. You should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a similar discipline. Experience with test management tools and a willingness to travel up to 20% are essential.

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer - Product Verification & Validation

  • Work as a systems engineer on multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to deliver MW-scale energy storage products
  • Develop deep understanding of the electrical, mechanical, functional, and safety design of Fluence's products
  • Develop best practices for test plan development, procedures for test management tool usage, testing templates, and other enhancements to Fluence's verification and validation processes
  • Engage with stakeholders across the company to present on verification and validation processes as well as status within assigned programs
  • Validate engineering design and documentation against Fluence product requirements
  • Lead development of system and subsystem test plans, detailed test procedures, and overall testing strategy for specific products under development
  • Incorporate customer and sales engineering testing requirements into system test plans
  • Travel to labs periodically to support test team and get a strong understanding of Fluence's lab capabilities, test equipment, and processes
  • Review test results to verify that requirements are met, results are well documented in testing tools, and testing processes are being followed
  • Collaborate with lab team to optimize test plan for the testing of different product configurations with significant overlap in design and testing requirements
  • Provide feedback on clarity and specificity of product requirements to the rest of the development team to drive improvements in requirements development

Requirements For Systems Engineer - Product Verification & Validation

  • Passion for energy storage, collaborative engineering, and learning from others
  • Bachelors' or Masters' degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 4-7 years industry experience, with background in renewable energy systems, power conversion, energy storage, PV, power systems control, or similar field
  • Experience developing or executing product test plans
  • Knowledge of tools for test management is a plus (i.e. Testrail, JAMA)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
