Fluence (Nasdaq: FLNC) is seeking a Test Engineer & Lab Support (m/f/d) for their office in Erlangen, Germany. This role requires fluent German language skills and is part of a dynamic hardware engineering team developing cutting-edge energy storage tools.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field, with 5+ years of experience in designing and testing power electronic devices. Key responsibilities include software and hardware testing for ongoing development projects, developing and maintaining test cases using Agile Scrum methodologies, and performing validation testing and root cause analysis.

The role involves working with test case management systems like TestRail, capturing daily activities in JIRA, and supporting product concepts through the evaluation and implementation of new technologies. The candidate should have experience with hardware and software in loop test harnesses, developing test plans, and working with external suppliers on certifications and test documents.

Responsibilities For Test Engineer (m/f/d) - German speaker

  • Test software and hardware for ongoing development projects
  • Develop and maintain test cases using Agile Scrum software development methodologies
  • Perform validation testing and complete root cause analysis of possible failures in components, subsystems and product-level systems
  • Review product and process non-conformance and recommend remedial actions
  • Support product concepts through the evaluation and implementation of new technologies
  • Analyze complex hardware, electronics, software, and fluidics systems
  • Define and adhere to best practices for hardware engineering, development testing, and validation
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of quality engineers
  • Work with external suppliers on certifications, test documents, and requirements

Requirements For Test Engineer (m/f/d) - German speaker

Linux
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience design and testing of power electronic devices
  • Experience using a Test Case Management System such as TestRail and capturing day to day activities in JIRA
  • Experience working with hardware and software in loop test harnesses
  • Experience in developing test plans and procedures to assess adherence to requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent language skills in German and English
  • Experience in supporting Linux, Mac and Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge in AWS, Openstack, Docker, and/or Github
  • Experience with continuous integration, build management, automated test frameworks and assessing existing products
