As a Staff Manufacturing Engineer in Cell Assembly, you'll play a crucial role in building America's energy future at their new factory in Weirton, WV. The position involves engineering all aspects of battery cell assembly manufacturing, from floor to ceiling, working directly with design engineers to optimize designs for manufacturing and developing equipment and processes.

The role combines hands-on prototype work with delivering high-volume production solutions. You'll collaborate with multiple teams including design engineers, supply chain, operations, and safety, while also working with external suppliers and consultants. Responsibilities For Staff Manufacturing Engineer, Cell Assembly

  • Own the development, build or purchase, and deployment of manufacturing workstations and equipment
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability feedback to the engineering team
  • Partner with equipment integrators from equipment development through hand off to operations teams
  • Install, commission, and qualify new equipment and fixtures
  • Design, document, and deliver robust processes for safety, uptime, and quality
  • Lead debugging and resolution of time-sensitive manufacturing issues
  • Collaborate to train hands-on labor on new manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Work with diverse teams inside and outside the company

Requirements For Staff Manufacturing Engineer, Cell Assembly

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of equipment or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Direct experience purchasing and setting up new automated manufacturing equipment
  • Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures and manufacturing documentation
  • Experience working with design engineers and providing DFM feedback
  • Readiness to perform hands-on build and test of workstations
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
