As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you'll join their Electrode Engineering team within the Technology group, focusing on battery anode and cathode designs. This role combines hands-on mechanical design with leadership responsibilities, where you'll lead the design of crucial battery cell components while ensuring they meet operational performance targets and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities For Staff Mechanical Engineer

  • Lead the design of electrode assembly or complex cell sub-assembly for battery cell electrodes
  • Develop functional requirements with Cell Engineering, Electrode Engineering, and Systems Engineering teams
  • Perform hands-on prototyping of designs
  • Release designs following company best practices
  • Demonstrate design functionality through analysis and testing
  • Work with vendors and manufacturing engineers for high volume production
  • Drive verification testing of designs
  • Mentor or manage other engineers

Requirements For Staff Mechanical Engineer

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Bachelor's with 10+ years or Master's with 8+ years)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks modeling and drafting
  • Proficient in component design for mass manufacturing and assembly (DFMA)
  • Proficient with prototyping techniques and machine shop environment
  • Familiarity with mechanical verification testing
  • Experience as a design lead or program lead
  • Experience with fluidic systems and CFD (preferred)
  • Experience with batteries, energy storage, fuel cells, or electrolyzers (preferred)
