Forseven, a revolutionary company in the EV industry, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their dynamic IT team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work from either Shalford (Near Guildford) or Leamington Spa 3 days per week. As a Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native software systems to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key responsibilities include developing and deploying software using AWS, learning Infrastructure as Code concepts, contributing to scalable features, and sharing knowledge with junior engineers. The ideal candidate should have a few years of experience in software engineering, expertise in data structures and algorithms, and proficiency in Go or Python. Experience with AWS services, containerization technologies, and Agile methodologies is highly valued.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native software systems
  • Develop and deploy software using cloud-based tools and services on AWS
  • Learn IaC concepts using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Contribute to the development of features that scale horizontally
  • Share learnings with junior engineers through internal knowledge-sharing sessions and documentation

Requirements For Software Engineer

  • A few years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer
  • Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and clean, efficient coding practice
  • Past usage of deploying applications to AWS with support from DevOps
  • Understanding of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda
  • Proficiency in at least one of these programming languages: Go, Python
  • Experience of working in Agile environments with a high degree of autonomy
  • Used to asynchronous ways of working within a distributed team
