The position combines hands-on technical leadership with client interaction, requiring expertise in PLC/DCS programming, HMI design, and industrial automation systems.

The role demands a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience who can lead complex projects, develop comprehensive design packages, and provide technical solutions in manufacturing environments. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Rockwell Control Logix, PowerFlex VFDs, and Kinetix Servo systems, while also managing client relationships and contributing to business growth.

Responsibilities For Lead Electrical and Controls Engineer

  • Provide technical hardware and software design leadership for industrial projects
  • Develop design packages for bid and construction
  • Coordinate and execute design and programming of PLC/DCS, HMI, VFD and Servo Motion projects
  • Coordinate electrical engineering and lead design/CAD resources
  • Provide hardware and software design for machine design projects
  • Develop project related documentation including schedules, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Provide installation, start up, and troubleshooting support
  • Support project and client requests for controls troubleshooting
  • Develop client relationships and cultivate future work opportunities
  • Travel to client sites (approximately 35% annually)

Requirements For Lead Electrical and Controls Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering/design experience
  • Experience with Rockwell Control Logix based PLC and FTView HMI
  • Experience with Rockwell PowerFlex VFDs and Inverter duty motors
  • Experience with Rockwell Kinetix Servo Drives and Motors
  • Knowledge of Ethernet and Ethernet/IP Networking
  • Experience with electrical system design schematics
  • Experience with Industrial Intelligent linear actuators
  • Experience with Machine Vision integration
  • Knowledge of sensing technologies and panel design
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 24 months (preferred)
  • Knowledge of safety standards ISO 13849-1 & RIA 15.06 (preferred)
