You'll take ownership of building and integrating complex mechanical systems, working closely with cross-disciplinary teams to develop cutting-edge technologies. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic thinking, requiring expertise in mechanical system assembly, manufacturing, and prototype development. You'll contribute to transitioning designs from R&D to production, optimize systems for performance and reliability, and help scale manufacturing processes. Responsibilities For Build Engineer

  • Own the assembly, integration, and bring-up of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems
  • Develop and document scalable manufacturing and assembly procedures
  • Work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to optimize mechanical system builds
  • Support design efforts by providing real-world build feedback and making CAD modifications
  • Create and iterate on mechanical designs, including custom tooling and test fixtures
  • Lead alignment, calibration, and precision tuning of mechanical systems
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in mechanical and electromechanical subsystems
  • Assist in transitioning builds from R&D into production systems
  • Conduct hands-on testing and validation of mechanical performance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Requirements For Build Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or manufacturing engineering
  • 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical system assembly
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical challenges in real time
