Description For Manufacturing Operations Engineer

Freeform is revolutionizing manufacturing with its software-defined, autonomous metal 3D printing factories. As a Manufacturing Operations Engineer, you'll lead the optimization and scaling of production processes for their cutting-edge metal 3D printing technology. The role involves working in a 35,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Hawthorne, CA, where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline production, improve efficiency, and ensure customer satisfaction.

You'll be responsible for developing operational strategies, refining post-print processes, managing production workflows, and working closely with engineering, business development, and leadership teams. The position offers an opportunity to help design and integrate new factory systems, support R&D prototype transition to full-scale production, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about solving complex problems in a fast-paced, hardware-focused environment. Responsibilities For Manufacturing Operations Engineer

  • Work cross functionally to create and implement manufacturing operations processes for metal 3D printing factory
  • Ensure processes meet production goals, customer requirements, and delivery schedules
  • Refine and accelerate post-print processes and delivery of customer parts
  • Build, integrate, and service printing systems and new factory architecture
  • Engage with engineering teams to improve R&D operations efficiency

Requirements For Manufacturing Operations Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university
  • 2+ years of professional experience in manufacturing/engineering development operations
  • Experience working in a dynamic, hardware development environment
