Description For Senior Simulation Engineer

Freeform is revolutionizing manufacturing with their software-defined, autonomous metal 3D printing factories. As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing sophisticated physics-based and data-driven models that power the world's first fully automated metal 3D printing factory capability.

The role combines deep technical expertise in physical simulations and multi-physics phenomena with practical software engineering skills. You'll work in an interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with data scientists, software engineers, and control engineers to create and integrate complex models into the production pipeline. The position offers a unique opportunity to solve unprecedented challenges in advanced manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will bring strong computational mechanics expertise and programming skills, with the ability to develop sophisticated models from scratch for undefined problem statements. While 3D printing experience isn't required, the role demands someone who can think creatively and apply first-principles reasoning to complex problems.

Located in a state-of-the-art facility in Hawthorne, CA, Freeform offers an inclusive culture that values collaboration and data-driven decision-making. The compensation package is competitive, including a base salary range of $100,000-$200,000, significant stock options, and comprehensive benefits. This is an opportunity to be an early member of a rapidly growing company that's scaling world-changing technology.

The position offers extensive growth potential within a dynamic startup environment. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, have access to specialized hardware like FPGAs and GPUs, and contribute to revolutionary advances in manufacturing technology. The role combines theoretical expertise with practical implementation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both deep technical work and seeing their solutions deployed in real-world applications.
