Description For Senior Product Cybersecurity Engineer II

Freenome is a high-growth biotech company developing tests to detect cancer using a standard blood draw. Our multiomics platform combines tumor and non-tumor signals with machine learning to find cancer in its earliest, most-treatable stages. Our first screening test focuses on colorectal cancer (CRC) and advanced adenomas, with plans to expand to other types of cancer.

As a Senior Product Cybersecurity Engineer II at Freenome, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing cybersecurity measures for our software, hardware, and digital solutions. This position involves close collaboration with product development teams, product management, corporate InfoSec, regulatory, quality, and compliance teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining security architecture for medical device products
  • Conducting threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis
  • Implementing security standards, protocols, and encryption mechanisms
  • Driving cybersecurity testing activities
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to define and meet cybersecurity requirements
  • Staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies

We're looking for candidates with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in product cybersecurity within the medical device or IVD sector
  • Deep understanding of healthcare regulations and standards
  • Proficiency in security architectures, encryption technologies, and network security
  • Experience with risk management methodologies and security assessment tools
  • Excellent communication skills
