Description For Senior Software Engineer - Research Platform

Freenome is a pioneering biotech company at the intersection of healthcare and technology, focused on developing revolutionary blood-based cancer detection tests. With approximately 400 employees, they're leveraging machine learning and multiomics to detect cancer in its earliest, most-treatable stages. The Senior Software Engineer role offers an opportunity to work on their Research Platform, which is crucial to their mission of combating cancer.

You'll be joining a world-class interdisciplinary team including ML Scientists, Bioinformaticists, and Computational Biologists. The position involves building and scaling computing and data platforms that power Freenome's research, working with petabyte-scale data pipelines, and optimizing Kubernetes clusters for high-throughput processing.

The role offers competitive compensation ($131,325 - $201,000), pre-IPO equity, and comprehensive benefits. As a remote position based anywhere in the US, you'll have the flexibility to work from your preferred location while contributing to potentially life-saving technology.

The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in building reliable production systems, strong Python skills, and experience with cloud services and Kubernetes. You'll be expected to champion platform engineering best practices and maintain a data-as-a-product culture.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior engineer who wants to make a meaningful impact in healthcare while working with cutting-edge technology. You'll be part of a mission-driven team called "Freenomers" who are determined to change the landscape of cancer detection and treatment.
