As a Staff Backend Engineer, you'll be responsible for the technical vision, strategy, and execution within your team. You'll work directly with the Head of Engineering and key stakeholders to manage technical risks and drive innovation. This hands-on role requires exceptional coding skills and the ability to lead cross-team initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and delivering cross-team technical initiatives
- Taking ownership of architecture for a tribe
- Providing technical guidance and making critical design decisions
- Creating improvements in stability, performance, and scalability
- Ensuring timely delivery of projects with tangible business impact
- Leading by example in following engineering practices
- Collaborating with diverse functions across Product, Design, Data, and QA
- Facilitating continuous learning and improvement for your team
- Maintaining high standards for quality, reliability, and scalability
- Anticipating broad technical changes and keeping Fresha ahead of the curve
- Acting as a multiplier by building systems and tools to raise team productivity
- Communicating Fresha's technical achievements externally
The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering large-scale systems, strong problem-solving and debugging skills, and the ability to develop multi-year technology strategies. You should be adaptable, able to build strong relationships across the business, and capable of mentoring team members.
