Backend Engineer (Senior/Lead)

Fuse Energy is seeking a Backend Engineer (Senior/Lead) to join their team and help build the core digital infrastructure for a next-generation energy company. In this role, you will work closely with the product team to engineer backend infrastructure that is second-to-none.

Your responsibilities will span across various aspects of the back-end, including:

• Constructing a real-time digital twin of renewable generation and customer demand
• Developing messaging interfaces with third-party providers
• Building high-volume pipelines for processing customer energy consumption
• Creating the backend of a world-class energy app

As an early member of the Fuse Energy team, you will play a crucial role in bringing clean, cheap electricity to households around the world. This position requires the ability to think on your feet, adapt to new business needs, take ownership of projects, and drive change.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Demonstrable excellence as a Software Engineer
• Ideally 2+ years of experience
• Proven ability to define and build complex systems
• Strong backend experience
• Hands-on experience operating highly-available production systems
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Fast problem-solving skills and clear communication

Bonus qualifications include:

• Experience with RedHat and Infosec
• Front-end/App development skills
• Experience in the Energy sector
