The Cloud Engineer will support the 33rd COS (Cyber Operation Squadron) Defensive Cyber Operations Team onsite at Lackland Air Force Base. This position will be an active part of this unit and will be responsible for monitoring, securing, and protecting the Air Force and Central Command global networks by ensuring network integrity, reliability, availability, confidentiality and responding to hostile network threats and attacks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems for protecting Air Force and Central Command global networks
- Evaluating technology infrastructure and determining feasibility of cloud migration for IDS/IPS technologies
- Identifying and integrating public and private cloud computing services, including AWS and Azure
- Managing storage infrastructure in cloud systems to ensure data security and implement backup plans
- Troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions for continuous cloud service operation
- Assessing performance, security, and scalability of existing cloud systems
- Monitoring system health and addressing issues promptly
- Supporting development and documentation of maintenance processes and checklists
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- IAT Level II certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP)
- IAT CSSP certification for Infrastructure Support (e.g., CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND)
- Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, DoD experience preferred
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS)
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies
