Description For Senior/Staff Algorithm Engineer - Vehicle Chassis

Gatik, the leader in autonomous middle mile logistics, is seeking a talented algorithm engineering expert for vehicle systems development in the Drive-by-wire field. This role involves algorithm development of embedded ECU software for safety-critical applications such as steering control, brake control, or throttle actuation. The position requires model-based development of embedded software, prototyping components, and creating vehicle chassis control algorithms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and improving vehicle chassis control algorithms for embedded ECU hardware
  • Creating functionally safe software following automotive standards for functional safety
  • Designing vehicle control software on rapid prototyping toolchains
  • Testing algorithms on bench setups, HiL systems, and vehicle platforms
  • Drafting requirements for algorithms
  • Ensuring software maturity and traceability with professional documentation
  • Creating and tracking software release plans and testing activities

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or similar, with a focus on automotive engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for automotive platforms
  • Competency in vehicle algorithm design and model-based software engineering
  • Experience with standards such as ISO26262, MISRA-C, and AUTOSAR
  • Familiarity with automotive embedded systems and rapid prototyping hardware

Requirements For Senior/Staff Algorithm Engineer - Vehicle Chassis

  • 5+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for automotive platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement full time critical systems
  • Competency in vehicle algorithm design such as vehicle-related control algorithms, state machine design
  • High proficiency in model-based software engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to meet ambitious timelines with critical deliverables
  • Experience with standards and practices such as ISO26262, MISRA-C and AUTOSAR
  • Familiarity with automotive embedded systems
  • Experience with CAN, LIN analysis, and debugging tools (PCAN, CANalyzer, CANape, etc.)
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping hardware such as dSpace Autobox and accompanying software such as ControlDesk
