Description For Software Engineer (Support)

GBG, the leading expert in global identity and location intelligence, is seeking a Software Engineer (Support) to join their Technology team in Kuala Lumpur. This role combines technical support and development responsibilities, focusing on maintaining and enhancing GBG's Fraud detection platforms.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art software solutions in the identity verification and fraud prevention space. As a Software Engineer (Support), you'll be responsible for providing technical support for production incidents and customer deployments, while also contributing to product development when time permits.

The role requires strong Java development skills, experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, and familiarity with modern cloud technologies. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Redis, Kafka, and PostgreSQL, while supporting real-time streaming processing architectures.

Key responsibilities include participating in 24/7 on-call support rotation, managing customer deployments, investigating incidents, and contributing to product enhancements. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
