Gemini, a global crypto and Web3 platform founded in 2014, is seeking a Senior Principal Security Engineer specializing in Applied Cryptography and Authentication. This critical role within the Platform Security team will focus on enhancing Gemini's infrastructure security through cryptographic expertise and developing cutting-edge authentication mechanisms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading PKI architecture and engineering
  • Hardening secrets management
  • Providing expertise in applied cryptography
  • Eliminating insecure authentication practices
  • Partnering with engineering teams on security architecture
  • Contributing to security risk reduction

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience, deep knowledge of identity and access management technologies, significant experience with container orchestration and distributed systems, and strong software development skills. Experience with PKI, secrets management, and identity and access management systems is highly preferred.

Gemini offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $248,000 - $310,000 (for NY, CA, and WA), discretionary annual bonus, equity grant, comprehensive health plans, 401K with company matching, paid parental leave, and flexible time off.

The company has a flexible hybrid work policy for employees within 30 miles of their NYC and Seattle offices, requiring in-office presence twice a week. Remote work is available for those outside these areas.
