Site Reliability Engineer

The Foundations group is seeking an engineer passionate about infrastructure management and site reliability engineering. As part of a distributed team, you'll collaborate with various engineering departments to build and scale the global platform supporting GoCardless's payments and open banking products.

This role is ideal for those who thrive on challenging problems, value continuous learning, and want to make a significant impact. You'll work with a diverse tech stack including Python, Ruby, Golang, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and various monitoring and CI/CD tools.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining automation for new and existing infrastructure
• Creating user-friendly tools to solve complex problems
• Automating operational tasks to reduce toil
• Ensuring system security against cyber threats
• Collaborating closely with software engineers and data scientists
• Participating in technical design and decision-making
• Embracing cloud-first engineering principles

The ideal candidate will have experience with programming languages like Python or Golang, infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, cloud providers (AWS or GCP), containerization, and various CI/CD and monitoring tools. Knowledge of DevOps and Agile principles, along with excellent communication skills, is crucial.
