Software Development Engineer - Growth

GoCardless is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their Product Growth team. This role focuses on driving Product-led Growth, including user acquisition, activation, revenue, and retention through the product itself. The team applies an experimental approach, moving projects from ideation to implementation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Contributing to various codebases across the entire product
• Working on business problems that directly impact company growth and revenue
• Improving activation rates, converting payers into customers, and driving growth through partner integrations
• Owning and developing the growth tech stack, including user tracking, product analytics, and A/B testing tools
• Supporting other teams in adopting an experimentation approach

The ideal candidate should have:

• Professional experience in coding, particularly with TypeScript/React on frontend and Ruby on backend
• Enthusiasm for working in a culture of experimentation, testing, and code review
• Strong communication skills, especially in explaining technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Designers, BI Analysts, and Growth Marketers
