Goken America is seeking a Design Engineer III specializing in Interiors Development to join their automotive engineering team. This senior-level position focuses on developing and engineering automotive interior components from concept through production. The role combines technical expertise in 3D modeling, particularly CATIA V6, with a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.
The position requires leading engineering activities for large-scale product development programs, with a focus on interior components such as cabin trim, tail gate lining, and floor systems. You'll be responsible for establishing and achieving targets across cost, investment, weight, performance, and quality metrics while coordinating with cross-functional teams including purchasing, suppliers, testing, and manufacturing.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of automotive interior component development experience, with a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field. Strong proficiency in DFM principles for both hard and soft trim materials is essential, as is the ability to interpret technical requirements and CAE/test results. Previous Honda development experience is considered a plus.
