Senior Production Engineer, Enterprise Engineering

At Google DeepMind, we are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to lead and drive technology projects in our workplace. The Enterprise Engineering team designs, develops, and supports world-class infrastructure to accelerate our research progress. This unique role offers a diverse workload from systems design and continual improvement to low-level support of the entire signal chain, from acquisition all the way through to Internet distribution. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Engineering, you will help define and drive user requirements, be responsible for following design guidelines, owning technical design, and acting as a point of technical escalation for global event studios.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving operational excellence by ensuring high availability and optimal performance across all research facilities
• Owning the detailed technical design of critical infrastructure
• Acting as the escalation point for critical system issues
• Proactively identifying emerging technologies and collaborating with vendors
• Managing site upgrades to ensure operational stability
• Partnering with research teams to understand their unique needs and provide tailored support
• Ensuring facility documentation is up to date and correct
• Leading research projects, managing suppliers, integrators, and budgets
• Establishing the feasibility of minor developments
• Acting as Engineer In Charge (EIC) for high-profile moments

We are looking for a candidate with deep Infrastructure Engineering experience, including:

• Expertise in IP video and audio technologies
• Strong grasp of IP networking
• Experience with broadcast systems
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative
• Passion for innovation and pushing the boundaries of broadcast technology
