Description For DevOps Engineer

Google Public Sector is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Mandiant Public Sector Security Assurance team. This role is crucial in ensuring that client software and services meet the highest security standards. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing code for mission applications and working closely with partners and customers to enhance their mission capabilities and security posture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Adapting existing Google services to mission requirements
  • Designing and developing Python code to expose APIs
  • Managing and debugging multiple microservice containers running within Kubernetes
  • Interfacing between customer developers and internal engineering teams

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling
  • 5 years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols
  • 5 years of coding experience in one or more general-purpose languages
  • An active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph

Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud computing systems, cybersecurity (both compliance and engineering), full-stack development, Kubernetes, and excellent cloud debugging skills.

The position is based in either Reston, VA, or Washington D.C., with a competitive salary range of $161,000-$239,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
