Description For Android System Health Engineer, AICore

Google is seeking an Android System Health Engineer for their AICore team to drive the development and maintenance of Android's system health monitoring and optimization. This role combines Android development expertise with system performance analysis, working on Google's open-source mobile operating system that powers over 3 billion devices worldwide.

The position requires strong technical skills in Android development, data structures, and algorithms, with a focus on system health metrics and monitoring. You'll be responsible for setting up production monitoring systems, working with various teams to understand and improve system health, and managing AICore Android application packages.

Responsibilities For Android System Health Engineer, AICore

  • Set up production monitoring including system health and inference performance
  • Identify system health metrics that matter to our service
  • Work with Android and Pixel System Health councils to understand the impact on system health of new features
  • Work with various testing teams, put the current baseline metrics in perspective with expectations, provide insights across OEMs or models
  • Build and release the AICore Android application package variants, feature configuration, model downloading, experiments, content safety, security, privacy and orchestration

Requirements For Android System Health Engineer, AICore

Java
Kotlin
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms and software development
  • 5 years of experience with Android mobile application development or Android framework
  • Experience working with Java or Kotlin
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field (preferred)
  • Experience in Machine Learning (preferred)
  • Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills (preferred)
