Description For Application Engineer, Financial Planning and Analysis

As an Application Engineer in the Finance Engineering team at Google, you will be responsible for transforming and building Google's internal Finance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role involves leading all aspects of web development, from requirements gathering to ongoing support and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Google, including Finance, People Operations, REWS, Legal, Marketing, and other product areas.

Your responsibilities will include executing end-to-end tasks, authoring design documents, ensuring code testing, understanding project architecture, and identifying and communicating problems with requirements. This position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field, along with experience in cloud technologies and programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or C.

Responsibilities For Application Engineer, Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Execute and finish end-to-end tasks towards a larger goal with minimal assistance from more senior team members.
  • Author design documents and present design reviews.
  • Own responsibility for ensuring code is tested using defined test frameworks.
  • Understand how your work fits in with related projects or components and into the overall architecture of the project.
  • Identify problems with requirements and communicate them.
