Application Engineering Manager, Finance Engineering

Google's Corp Eng division is seeking an Application Engineering Manager to lead their Finance Engineering team. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring extensive experience in both software engineering and team leadership. The position involves managing a team of engineers and business analysts, focusing on implementing and integrating both custom-built and third-party applications supporting financial planning and analysis processes. The role requires deep technical expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and programming languages like Java, Python, and Go.

As part of Google's IT organization, you'll be instrumental in building world-leading business solutions that help scale Google's internal operations. The role involves working with senior stakeholders, managing cross-functional relationships, and developing systems visions and delivery roadmaps. You'll be responsible for ensuring team delivery with consistent quality and predictability while supporting internal business processes related to financial planning and analysis.

The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background with at least 15 years of experience in application design and integration, combined with 8 years of engineering management experience. Knowledge of financial planning and analysis systems, experience with web-scale databases, and familiarity with tools like Anaplan, SAP SAC, and SAP BPC would be advantageous.
