Google is seeking a BigQuery SQL Translation and Lineage Software Engineer to join their team working on the BigQuery Migration Service. This role focuses on translating SQL from various databases to BigQuery SQL using advanced semantic compiler technology. Responsibilities For BigQuery SQL Translation and Lineage Software Engineer

  • Work closely with customers and teams across Google migrating to BigQuery, and enable significant business impact through our close partnerships while improving the automation of the entire service
  • Integrate AI Large Language Models (LLMs) into the engine and service
  • Build and extend the SQL service and engine development
  • Analyze complex SQL issues and develop solutions including new semantic parsers, transformers, and emitters
  • Work closely with partner teams and customers to provide SQL expertise and extend the service

Requirements For BigQuery SQL Translation and Lineage Software Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • Experience with SQL and extracting and manipulating data from databases
